Abstract

This study aims to elucidate the features and manifestations of reality in the texts of the Iraqi poet Majid Al-Hassan. These features appear scattered throughout his poetry collections, crafted in a narrative style that relies on recalling memories, which have profoundly influenced his poetic experience. In his poems, the poet attempts to capture events and occurrences in their specific places and times, striving to reconstruct and redraw them through a highly precise poetic framework. The study explores the functions and effects of this experience, which are aesthetically and intellectually centered on the dynamism of reality, employing the duality of past and present, reality and imagination. Reality, as depicted through childhood and upbringing, takes on various forms in his texts, manifested through the poet's style and writing method. The self is considered the primary and essential driving force in the creative process.

 The findings indicate that the manifestations of reality through childhood and upbringing in Majid Al-Hassan's poetry create a sense of suspense, compelling the reader to actively engage in the process of meaning-making. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that these elements of reality in his poetry are not merely used for artistic expression, but rather serve as a tool for revealing profound life experiences, contributing to the creation of a multi-layered space that invites the reader to reflect on cultural, social, and existential issues
