Abstract

Syntax is one of the fundamental levels upon which modern linguistic research is based. The ancient Arabs addressed it in terms of concept, terminology, and types. De Saussure, the formalists, the functionalists, and the distributions all emphasized its distinction from grammar. This is based on normative principles that must be overcome, despite their importance, demonstrating its linguistic significance. Many have written about syntax in general, which requires extensive exploration, clarification, and analysis. Perhaps the most important of these characteristics is the "generative transformational theory." The most important authors who pointed this out were Dr. Ali Abu al-Makarem in his book "Attributive Structures" and Muhammad Mahmoud in his book "Grammatical Structures in the Light of Modern Linguistics." A number of researchers have addressed this phenomenon and examined grammatical structures. Despite all of this, I have not found anyone who addressed it from the perspective of the generative transformational theory.
