Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify the values ​​of digital awareness, and to find out if there were differences in the values ​​of digital awareness attributed to the variables (gender and specialization). The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach for a questionnaire consisting of (7) fields that included (36) paragraphs, the validity and reliability of which were confirmed on a random sample of students from the College of Basic Education consisting of (133) male and female students. The results of the research showed that the fields of digital awareness values ​​in general came at a (medium) degree according to the responses of the students of the College of Basic Education, and the t-test for two independent samples did not show a statistically significant difference at a significance level of (0.05) in the responses to the paragraphs of the research tool in relation to gender (males - females), while there was a statistically significant difference in relation to specialization in favor of the humanities specialization. The research came out with a number of recommendations, including: The necessity of the College of Basic Education, through its centers spread across the governorates, to develop the values ​​of digital awareness, and to show its interest in the fields of (digital culture) and (e-commerce). The research also came out with a number of suggestions, including: Conducting a similar study on the role of colleges of education in Iraqi universities in developing the values ​​of digital awareness.
