Professional development for physical education teachers in Najaf Governorate

The aim of the research was to identify the values of digital awareness, and to find out if there were differences in the values of digital awareness attributed to the variables (gender and specialization). The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach for a questionnaire consisting of (7) fields that included (36) paragraphs, the validity and reliability of which were confirmed on a random sample of students from the College of Basic Education consisting of (133) male and female students. The results of the research showed that the fields of digital awareness values in general came at a (medium) degree according to the responses of the students of the College of Basic Education, and the t-test for two independent samples did not show a statistically significant difference at a significance level of (0.05) in the responses to the paragraphs of the research tool in relation to gender (males - females), while there was a statistically significant difference in relation to specialization in favor of the humanities specialization. The research came out with a number of recommendations, including: The necessity of the College of Basic Education, through its centers spread across the governorates, to develop the values of digital awareness, and to show its interest in the fields of (digital culture) and (e-commerce). The research also came out with a number of suggestions, including: Conducting a similar study on the role of colleges of education in Iraqi universities in developing the values of digital awareness.
