Abstract

Objectives: The research aims to present the oldest clear picture of the life of the Arabs before Islam, how they used to take from merchants on land and sea, and in markets, the tribute that was taken from them, and they were unjust to them in that, and the tribute was taken in every market and in any form by imposing additional taxes on them, and people complained about it; because it was a burden on the subjects, and these emirates and villages did not know peace, security and freedom except a little, so in war their sons were killed, their buildings were destroyed, their palm trees were burned, and their crops were damaged, and in times of peace people were imprisoned in their countries and they could not get away from them except by adventure, so Bedouinism robs, plunders, kills and imposes tribute on scattered cities, threatens their safety, and cuts off their roads.

Methodology: In writing this research, we relied on Arab and Islamic historical sources and references, and chose the historical and analytical method for the narratives in which the aspect of imposing tribute on peoples and tribes appears, and the reasons for which are many among the Arabs before Islam.
